A wide variety of fuels used to produce electricity. There are many common points on petrol, diesel, propane and natural gas. With a wide range of options, the status of the owner of the house of fuel and the right type of generator depends on factors such as availability of fuel and the frequency of use.
Gasoline generator
Gasoline generators are the family-type generator principle. The fuel is readily available and relatively inexpensive. The power per unit of weight in a generator fueled with gasoline, is also more than other types of generators. Gasoline generators are less expensive than generators that use other fuel sources. However, their price depends on the components used. Multi-cylinder water-cooled engines are qualitatively superior and are priced high. These generators, unlike the cheaper, single cylinder, air cooled engines produce less noise and operate at low temperatures. Some generators are loaded with features like overhead valves, which expires on oil closed, the temperature of the enclosure top and electric start. The speed of the engine and the type of alternators used also determine the length of the generator
There are certain disadvantages using gasoline generators. Gasoline has a very short life of about six months. Fuel stabilizers happen to be added to keep the fuel from entering unusable. Gasoline is highly inflammable and storing gasoline for long duration of the season can be extremely dangerous. Gasoline generators require frequent maintenance and there is the problem of condensation inside in cold weather. Rubber deposits form on fuel especially in cold and can be reasonably problems fuel filters and carburetors if the generator does not run frequently.
The generators are available in 3KW to 15 kW and more. The minimum cost of home generators within the range of 3 kW and 5 kW is about $ 500 to $ 1000.
Natural gas generators
Most sustainable or backup generators are fueled by natural gas. This is the cheapest source of fuel and usuall available at any time. Natural gas supplied from the gas lines of the house can easily be channeled to the generator eliminating the inconvenience of refueling and the risk of fuel storage. In areas where natural gas is available, using a generator for natural gas is a better price. The generator lasts longer, requires less maintenance and burn cleaner. The engine produces less noise than diesel or gasoline powered generators
Propane Generator
Propane is commonly used for durable emergency generators or in places where there is an availability of fuel supplies. For homeowners who already have a storage tank of about 150 to 200 gallons, propane generators are the most beautiful capital. These generators require less maintenance. There is no problem from compression up or cold. Gain of propane to live longer and burn cleaner. The disadvantage of propane is that it is relatively expensive and less effective, producing less energy per unit volume set on diesel. A 10 KW to 12KW generator is sufficient to power the use of original size. A 12KW propane or natural gas generator in May from the coast $ 3200 upwards.
